EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana falls sports begin the 2010 campaigns Monday with the start of two-a-day practices.
The women’s soccer team starts practice at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Strassweg Field before moving all morning practices to the Goebel Soccer Complex for the rest of the preseason (August 17-26). All afternoon practices, which will start at 2:30 p.m., will be at the USI Physical Activities Center or at Strassweg Field.
The women’s squad will hold an inner-squad scrimmage August 28 at 8 p.m. at Strassweg Field and opens the regular season at home against Bethel College September 2 at home at 5 p.m.
The men’s soccer team begins practice at 9 a.m. Monday and will hold its morning practices at Brittle Bank Soccer Field in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. The evening practices, which are scheduled for 8 p.m., will be at Strassweg Field.
The men’s team hosts a scrimmage against Brescia University August 24 and the season-opener versus Saginaw Valley State University September 2. Match time for the scrimmage is 7 p.m., while kick off for the season opener is 7:30 p.m.
The volleyball team opens its two-a-day practice schedule Monday at 7 a.m. with its afternoon practice slated to start at 3 p.m. The Eagles’ first scrimmage is August 21 against the University of St. Francis and their first match is September 3 at the University of West Florida.
