University of Southern Indiana women's tennis players posted a combined 4-9 record Friday and Saturday at the ITA Midwest Region Championships.
Senior Morgan Coquerille
and sophomore Elizabeth Skinner
each posted a pair of wins to pace the Screaming Eagles.
Coquerille won her first-round match in the singles "Flight A" bracket over the University of Illinois Springfield's Faith Hook in straight sets before teaming with Skinner for a win in the consolation doubles bracket. Skinner opened the singles "Flight B" bracket with a straight-set win over Davis & Elkins College's Markita Prieto before losing in the second round.
Sophomore Elizabeth Wilm
also was victorious in the opening round of the singles "Flight A" bracket, posting a three-set win over over Truman State University's Katie Austin, before bowing out of the tournament in the second round.
USI concludes its fall season October 9 at 3 p.m. when it hosts the Gunderson Mixed Doubles exhibition with the USI men's tennis team.
